Mariia Statkova

Mariia Statkova is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Public Economics, Law, and Politics at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. With a background in performing arts production and research from the W.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko School of the Moscow Art Theatre, she has worked at theatre festivals and the International Department of the Theatre Union of the Russian Federation, leading the "Mobility Info.Russia" project and supporting the UNIMA and ASSITEJ Russia offices. Mariia is also a Student Researcher at the UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development and the SETRI Institute at Leuphana. She has been a Don Lavoie Fellow at the Mercatus Center (George Mason University, USA) and has presented her research at various conferences. Her main interests include cultural policy, cultural economics, and the social and economic status of performing arts professionals.
