Advisory board of LoLE project

Lydia is professor for primary education with a focus and basic and social sciences at the University of Koblenz. One of her key research areas and interests is the implementation of ESD in teacher education to contribute to future school and pedagogical development. In this regard she is e.g. interested in mindfulness oriented approaches and their potential for ESD or school transformation work. As member of the advisory board for the Lole project she wants to share these experiences but also experiences from the development of international and several national professional development courses for teachers on ESD and its implementation in practice.

Marc Kleinknecht is Professor of School Pedagogy and School Development at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His research focuses on video-based teaching research and the video- and online-based promotion of teachers' skills acquisition. He completed his doctorate at the University of Tübingen and his habilitation at the Technical University of Munich.

​Lutz Möller is Deputy Secretary-General of the German Commission for UNESCO and Head of its Director of the Policy Division “Education, Science, Culture.” He works at the German Commission for UNESCO since 2004 and has an overall responsibility for ESD. In 2023, he has been a German lead negotiator for the UNESCO Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Development.

Prof. Dr. Alexander Siegmund is Vice-Rector for Research, Sustainability and Digitalization at Heidelberg University of Education, where he is a professor of geography. He is the founding Managing Director of the Heidelberg Center for Education for Sustainable Development and Head of the new Master's degree course in Digital ESD. He is also Chairman of the University Forum as part of the National ESD Platform and spokesperson for the Baden-Württemberg ESD University Network. On the advisory board of the LoLE project Leaders of Learner Empowerment, he contributes his many years of experience in the implementation of ESD projects for different target groups

Emma Steinbrück is Chairwoman of the Young Forum of the German Commission for UNESCO as well as part of the Education Committee and the Commission itself. She is studying Studium Individuale at Leuphana University with a focus on politics and sustainability. A former pupil at a UNESCO project school, she has been involved in youth participation formats for many years - with a particular focus on education for sustainable development (ESD). On the advisory board of the LoLE project Leaders of Learner Empowerment, she contributes her young perspective and experience with ESD in various contexts.

Frieda Kühn is a member of youpaN, the youth forum of the National Platform on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), which was set up by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Together with 30 young people, she is committed to ensuring that the perspectives of the younger generation are incorporated into political processes for the implementation of ESD. This year she graduated from high school and from August will be starting a voluntary ecological year on the island of Spiekeroog. During her time at school, she was head girl for four years and gained experience with school committee work and co-determination. In the LoLE project, she would like to combine my experience from school involvement, youth participation and practical ESD work and thus contribute a young, school-related perspective.
